昨日、会社の従業員全員に以下のようなメールが届きました。

Protest against Financial Institutions in the City - Friday 10th October

To all

We have been informed from the City of London Police that a protest against Financial Institutions in the City will be taking place from 4pm till 6pm tomorrow. The protest by the ‘Socialist Workers Party’ will originate in the area of Bank Junction and whilst specific numbers are not known recent events have indicated that this group can assemble anything from fifty to several hundred demonstrators. As is standard practice, Police will be in attendance throughout.

We will be increasing building security arrangements as a precaution only, however, your safety is our foremost priority and the advice we have received is for staff to use caution and remain vigilant when travelling through the city.

Your co-operation as always is appreciated.

各位

ロンドン・シティ警察より、明日4時から6時までの間シティの金融機関向けに抗議デモが行われるとの連絡を受けました。「社会労働党」による抗議デモであり、バンク・ジャンクション付近をスタートして、まだ具体的な数は不明ですが50人から数百人規模まで膨れ上がる可能性もあるとのことです。通常の抗議行動であり、警察が常に帯同します。

警戒のためビルの警備を増強しますが、従業員の皆さんの安全確保が最重要であり、シティ内を通行する際には慎重を期するようお願いいたします。

皆さんのご協力に感謝いたします。

お陰様でこうして無事に生きています。
というか、何事もなかったかのように平穏な金曜日の午後でした。

今回の金融危機、特に日本ではまだあまり生活に影響を及ぼしていないと聞きました。
ロンドンは、さすがにシティ界隈のレストランが空き始めたとか。
